Accreditation
The Kosovo Leadership Academy earned its Cognia ® Accreditation June 17, 2022. Cognia is a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers.
Cognia recognizes school districts and individual schools that meet rigorous standards focused on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation that meets the needs of learners, and effective leadership. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation
Commission means that the Kosovo Leadership Academy is accredited, and that it is recognized across the United States as a school that meets Cognia Performance Standards and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement.
School accreditation as conferred by the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission provides the Kosovo Leadership Academy with a nationally recognized mark of quality. Director Nadine Hennesey explains, “It demonstrates to our community our commitment to excellence, our openness to external review and feedback, and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the students we serve.”
Dr. Mark A. Elgart, president and CEO of Cognia, stated, “Cognia Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school and its community on the primary goal of preparing lifelong learners in engaging environments where all students can flourish. The Kosovo Leadership Academy is to be commended for demonstrating that it has met high standards, is making progress on key indicators that impact student learning.”
Cognia is the parent organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).
Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten program is where curiosity begins. In a safe, caring, and inspiring environment, children take their first steps toward a lifelong love of learning. Through play-based and hands-on activities, students explore literacy, numeracy, and the world around them while developing creativity, confidence, and social-emotional skills. The goal is to nurture each child’s natural curiosity and help them grow academically and personally in a joyful atmosphere.
Grades 1-5
The Elementary program builds on the excitement of discovery. Students engage in a well-rounded curriculum that strengthens their reading, writing, math, and science skills while promoting critical thinking and collaboration. Lessons are designed to make learning meaningful and interactive, connecting academic subjects with real-world experiences. Our teachers focus on helping each student develop independence, integrity, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Grades 6-9
Middle School is a time of exploration, growth, and self-discovery. At this stage, students deepen their academic knowledge while developing leadership, character, and global awareness. The program encourages students to think critically, communicate effectively, and take responsibility for their learning. Alongside rigorous academics, students are supported through mentorship and extracurricular opportunities that help them find their passions and build confidence for the years ahead.
Grades 10-12
Our High School program prepares students for success in higher education and life beyond the classroom. Through a challenging and balanced curriculum, students refine their analytical and problem-solving skills while engaging in meaningful community service, leadership initiatives, and advanced coursework. Emphasis is placed on academic excellence, moral values, and global citizenship. Graduates leave Kosovo Leadership Academy ready to thrive at universities around the world and to make a positive impact in their communities.
